American Citizen Services

Yuangong Temple, Kunming, Chin

Kunming has a large and well-established American expatriate community. VPP Kunming is dedicated to providing Americans in Kunming and Yunnan Province continued and diligent service through periodic American Citizen Services outreach events.

Every 3-4 months, the Consulate in Chengdu sends a consular officer to Kunming to assist American citizens with passport renewals, certificates of birth abroad, adding pages to passports, and notarial services.  The information regarding these events, and specific instructions regarding services in Kunming, can be found in a prior event announcement.

Future American Citizen Services outreach events will be announced on this website and sent to all registered Americans via our warden e-mail system.

The Consulate recommends that every American residing in the Chengdu Consular District for an extended period register with the Consular Section. Registration will enable us to send you important security updates, or to locate you in case of emergency or evacuation. All personal information will be kept entirely confidential.  Registration is quick and easy.  Please register online or ask a Consular officer about registration at one of our Kunming American Citizen Services outreach events.

For other information about American Citizen Services at the Consulate in Chengdu, please review the Consulate Chengdu American Citizen Services website
